3/7/2023 0 Comments Zero g registry![]() You have nearly ZERO way of knowing if the battery is weak, with little warning in most cases until it's almost too late and the battery requires a jumping off to get the truck running again. The only time I've come close to something like this is when my first battery that came with the truck went bad and even then, it did some pretty crazy stuff and threw all kinds of codes before I got it to the stealership.(and had to buy their overpriced friggin' battery cuz I couldn't find one for the truck anywhere, it was a "non-serviceable" battery *fumes*) I will say the only thing I am still amazed at concerning GM with this truck is the lack of a friggin voltage meter on the dash. Personally, I've yet to have this problem thankfully. ![]() Again, this is all through a process of elimination, of which I'm sure most of you understand. ![]() The same goes for your alternator, if you've eliminated the battery as a culprit and you're still having issues, it's time to start looking at the alternator. So if your battery lives past it's expected lifespan,(3 years?) consider it a blessing and keep an eye on your truck for any weird electrical issues from then on for signs of the battery failing. ![]() You are not guaranteed anything beyond the expected lifespan of the battery by the manufacturer. C'mon people, check your battery and alternator, this can happen to any vehicle! Just because you have 10,000 or 40,000 or 100,000 miles on the truck makes no difference, a battery can fail anytime, either by manufacturer defect or by simple ole' plain wear, tear and age. ![]()
